Lauryl Akenhead

Lauryl is a standout competitor in the Precision Rifle Series (PRS) and National Rifle League (NRL), recognized for her exceptional skill, consistency, and leadership in the shooting sports community.

Early Life & Intro to Shooting

Hailing from Bedford, Virginia, Lauryl began her shooting journey at the age of 11 through her local 4-H club, where she earned multiple state championship titles. Her early experiences included disciplines such as skeet, trap, 3D archery, and Olympic-style shooting. A pivotal moment came when a friend introduced her to an NRL22 match in West Virginia, igniting her passion for precision rifle competitions. By 16, she had won her first PRS-style match, setting the stage for a remarkable career.

Competitive Achievements

Over six years, Lauryl has competed in 78 PRS matches, including 53 Pro Series events. Notably, she secured a 4th place finish out of 87 shooters at the 2021 "Road to Redemption" match and clinched 1st place at the 2023 VPRC February Frenzy.

 

In the 2025 season, Lauryl achieved multiple victories in the Production Division, including:

  -1st place at the 2025 MDT Frostbite PRS Pro Series Qualifier, where she also earned Top Lady honors.


Internationally, Lauryl has represented the United States with distinction. At the 2022 International Precision Rifle Federation (IPRF) World Championship in France, she secured the silver medal in the Ladies Division. She went on to claim the Ladies Division title at the 2024 IPRF Centerfire World Championship in Colorado.
